Prof. Asubiojo joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Chemistry in 1972 after obtaining a First Class Honours degree in Chemistry from the same department in June 1972.

On the completion of his Ph.D degree at Stanford University, California and a post doctoral stint at the University of California, Irvine, both in the U.S.A, he returned home to resume duties in the Department of Chemistry as Lecturer II. He rose through the ranks to the post of Professor of Chemistry in 1993.

A dedicated teacher and prolific researcher, he has supervised/co-supervised 7 Doctoral and 4 Masters Degree candidates, and he serves as external Examiner at undergraduate levels for various Nigerian Universities and reviewer for many International scientific journals.

Prior to his present appointment as Director, Centre for Distance Learning, he has held many important administrative positions, including Head, Department of Chemistry (1997 – 2000), Member, Governing Council (1995 -1997), Chairman, Implementation Monitoring Committee of the 2004-2008 Strategic Plan (2005 – 2009), among others. At the National level, he has served as a resource person for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (1993 – 1998), Panelist, Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (2001 – 2003) and he is currently a member of the Governing board of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).

Mike Adeyeye lectures at the Department of Local Government Studies, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He holds a B.Sc. Political Science (Ibadan), M.Sc. Local Government Studies (Ife) and Ph.D. Political Science (Ibadan), specializing in public administration and governance studies.

Prior to his present appointment, he has served as Head, Department of Local Government Studies (2006- 2008) and Vice-Dean, Faculty of Administration (2005-2007). He has also served as Secretary to Obokun Local Government, Ibokun, Osun State (1991-1993); this experience afforded him the practical facet of governance and administration. He has consulted for governments and NGOs, the World Bank, UNDP, ADB and various donor and international agencies. His current interests are in e-governance and Open, Distance and e-learning.

Administrative Secretary

Mrs F.E. Ajayi is currently the Administrative Secretary of Centre for Distance Learning. She holds a B.A. (Education) English (Ife) and M.A. Guidance and Counseling (Ife). Prior to the present appointment, she worked with the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where she rose through the ranks to the status of a Deputy Registrar in 2005, a post she held until her retirement in 2008.

While in the services of Obafemi Awolowo University, she had the opportunity of working in various sections of the Registry as Guidance Counsellor at the Students Affairs Unit, Faculty/College Secretary in various Faculties and College of Health Sciences, Officer in Personnel Affairs and Academic Affairs (Examinations and Records) units.

Mrs Ajayi was opportuned to go on sabbatical leave at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye where she had the singular opportunity of being the pioneering Deputy Registrar in the newly created Examinations and Records units of the University. She is a registered member of Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA).
