The primary objective of this programme is to train students towards professional and academic scholarship in the areas of Theatre and Media Arts.
There are specializations available in various practical and theoretical aspects of the Dramatic and Theatre Arts. They include:
- Dance and Mime
- Management of the Arts
- Radio/Television and Film Production
- Acting
- Directing
- Stage Lightning and Design
- Stage Management
- Playwriting.
- Admission Requirements
- Admission is by an Entrance Examination and an audition organized by the department. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed any five (5) subjects at Credit level including English Language, Literature-in-English and one other art subject at the Senior School Certificate Examination, General Certificate of Education (GCE) or National Examination Council (NECO).
- Duration
- Diploma in Dramatic Arts (DDA) shall be awarded on successful completion of the programme, which shall last for two (2) academic Sessions.
- Mode of Study
- Face to face at the Department of Dramatic Art, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
- Benefits to Applicants
- This diploma programme can be used to gain admission through Direct Entry into the Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Art in the university after fulfilling the required grade level of Merit and above.
