Programme Objectives
  • To attain the “A” Level standard in Portuguese and a very high level in a second foreign language;
  • To acquire the four basic communication skills – oral and written comprehension, and oral and written expression, in Portuguese and a second foreign language;
  • Acquire specialized language competence in different fields, i.e. Medicine, Business Studies, Law, Science, Technology, Tourism, etc. under the course tittle “Portuguese for special purposes”
  • It is envisaged that outstanding students would be able to gain admission into programmes offered by the department.
Admission Requirements

Candidates must have at least five ‘O’ level credits, including English Language at the SSCE/GCE “O” level. No previous knowledge of Portuguese is required of the candidates. There will, however, be a selection interview for qualified candidates.

Duration

The programme  shall last for a minimum of 2 Academic Sessions.
